PowerShell V2 dir listings for files over 10GB still broken

This cracks me up – I remember reporting it back during the PS V1 development cycle (on the internal pshtalk list) and hearing that it was a known problem then.  I’m really surprised the width of this field wasn’t extended at least 1 character (if not more).  Admittedly, it’s arguably cosmetic, but I wouldn’t consider it a big deal to change.  After all, people shouldn’t be parsing the string output – this *IS* PowerShell after all 🙂

Of course, this is just the default formatting for directory listings.  You could always pipe into format-table –auto (ft –a) so it will calculate the widths based on the contents and get the length all on one line 🙂
